We Believe Privacy Is a Right, Not A Privilege
The Spark
It started over dinner in late 2022. A group of friends - engineers, data specialists, and visionaries, talked about the modern web: privacy steadily eroding, massive cloud breaches becoming routine, and people increasingly losing control of their digital lives.
The old threats were already serious, but then a new one emerged: AI. Every app, every service, every recommendation now relies on massive datasets, much of it built from people’s private information. Big Tech isn’t just collecting data anymore, they’re using it to train AI models, often without consent, turning your personal life into a resource for systems you never agreed to participate in.
Online, the choice still felt stark: hand over your data to Big Tech for convenience, or wrestle with self-hosted solutions that were confusing, inaccessible, or both. There was no middle ground.
Then one of us shared a side project: a decentralized protocol for secure file transfers. That night, the idea for ArkCentral was born:
what if privacy didn’t require compromise? What if you could protect your data against both traditional breaches and this new AI-driven threat, without giving up convenience?

Our Philosophy: The Power of Choice
We didn't found ArkCentral to fight technology; we founded it to restore choice.
Some people are fine with the cloud, and that’s okay. But for journalists, businesses, and families who want their digital lives private, there should be a simple, accessible option.
Why Hardware?
Software alone can’t guarantee true custody. To own your data, you must own the device it lives on.
Why No Mandatory Subscriptions?
The world is exhausted from “subscription fatigue”. Security for your data should be something you own, not rent. You use The Ark - you own your data and privacy.
Why This Matters Today
Data is the new gold. Every interaction, every photo, every file has value. And yet, in the current system, that value is mined and monetized by corporations, often without your knowledge or consent. At ArkCentral, we believe that your data is yours to keep, control, and protect.
The Founders
We are a team of engineers and visionaries who spent decades building resilient products, hardware, and the infrastructure of the internet. Now, we’re creating a safe harbor within it - a place where privacy is built into every layer.
Core Members:
Francis (LinkedIn) — Co-Founder, Product & Applications
Cornell University, B.S. Electrical & Computer Engineering; M.E. Systems Engineering. Previously built data infrastructure at Nielsen, working specifically on identity resolution systems used for targeted advertising. That experience, seeing firsthand how personal data is aggregated and monetized, became the foundation for ArkCentral's user sovereignty model. Francis heads product strategy and front-end platform development.
Joe — Co-Founder, Network & Hardware Architect
NYU Polytechnic, Computer Engineering & Networking. Decades of experience in telecommunications and hardware, including infrastructure work at AT&T. Joe architected ArkCentral's decentralized networking infrastructure - designed for global connectivity without exposing user data to third parties.
Engineering Team & Partners:
Behind the scenes, our extended engineering team brings expertise in hardware design, secure networking, embedded software, and AI-safe architecture - with backgrounds from Stanford, Princeton, and beyond. Together with trusted partners in hardware manufacturing, cryptography, and secure logistics, they turn ArkCentral from vision to reality.
Together, our team combines deep technical experience, multidisciplinary expertise, and a shared commitment to digital sovereignty, allowing us to tackle privacy from every angle.
Our Vision
We envision a future where absolute data privacy is an architectural certainty, not a premium feature.
We are building towards a world where choosing what happens to your data is as easy as locking your front door. A decentralized web where complex security is a seamless consequence of a simple, 10-minute setup, allowing anyone to take immediate, definitive action to protect their integrity.
